THE following notification has appeared in the Government Gazette .
Colonial Secretary s Office,
Sydney, 28th January, 1867.
His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council,has directed it to be notified, for general information, that in accordance with the 22nd section of the Public Schools Act of 1866, the undermentioned gentlemen have been appointed to form the Local School Boards in connexion with the public schools established at the places specified, viz :

After the closure of all the small schools in the Blowering Valley, many residents travelled into Tumut and attended the Infants, Primary and High sections of the Tumut Intermediate High School.
It is interesting to note that in December 1960 the Tumut Intermediate High School closed its doors for the final time.
Then in 1961 the Tumut High School was born as a seperate identity at a new site.
The old site then became known as the Tumut Primary School.
2010, fifty years later, marks two anniversaries.
1. the closure of a school and
2. the 50th anniversary of 3rd Form (1960) leaving school.
A gathering is planned for the 17th April, 2010, at the Tumut RSL Club.
